Network To Help Women Entrepreneurs

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 (Bernama) -- The Asian Women Business Network aims to foster closer collaboration among Asian women entrepreneurs in areas of market access, business support, networking and joint ventures.

In a statement here today, the MCA ICT Resource Centre (MIRC) said the setting up of the network was a combined efforts by representative from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Vietnam and South Korea.

MIRC chief executive, Andrew Wong, said the network would encourage and facilitate the growth and performance of women entrepreneurs, not just in Malaysia but across Asia.

"This will be done by creating opportunities to foster business relationships through a creative exchange of business, networking, training and support services among member countries," he said.

He said the network would be launched during the first Asian Women Business Power Conference which will be held on June 18 in Technology Park Malaysia.

The conference is a joint effort between MIRC, Wanita MCA's Women Entrepreneur Development Centre, National Incubation Network Association, Technology Park Malaysia and Vtalent.

Over 400 women entrepreneurs and chief executive officers are expected to attend the conference.
